How to Measure Your Nails

There are two simple ways to measure your nails at home.

Soft Measuring Tape

  1. Measure the widest part of your natural nail using a soft measuring tape.
  2. Record the width in millimetres (mm).
  3. Repeat for each finger.

Paper Strip

  1. Wrap a small strip of paper around the widest part of your nail.
  2. Mark both sides where the paper meets.
  3. Measure the distance between the marks using a ruler.
  4. Record the width in millimetres (mm).

Common Questions

What if I'm between sizes?

If you're between sizes, we usually recommend choosing the slightly larger size. You can gently file the sides for a more comfortable and natural fit.

What if one hand is different from the other?

This is very normal. Many people have slightly different nail sizes on each hand. We recommend measuring both hands for the best fit.

Do longer nail shapes affect sizing?

The width sizing stays the same, but longer shapes can feel a little different depending on your natural nail shape and nail bed.

Where should I measure my nail?

Measure the widest part of your natural nail from sidewall to sidewall.

Are measurements in inches or millimetres?

All ARTip measurements are listed in millimetres (mm).

Can I file the press-ons if needed?

Yes. You can gently file the sides, shape, or length to better suit your hands and personal style.

Do all nail shapes fit the same?

Some shapes may sit a little differently depending on your nail bed and finger shape, but sizing is always based on the width of your natural nail.
